At this point literally everyone and their mom has heard Old Town Road, it's gone so viral that it could easily be added to the long list of summer one hit wonders. But it just won't die, thanks in part to the internet. No one group encompasses the viral success mentality better than the KPOP boyband BTS, and doing a version of Old Town Road with them was nothing short of genius from a marketing point of view. But when did artists stop being artists and start being ad executives? It seems like the emphasis these days is less on the art form and more on how good you are at marketing yourself.
