Heart's Ann Wilson Releases Music Video For 'The Revolution Starts Now'

Heart's Ann Wilson has unveiled her first new single in two years, a cover of Steve Earle's "The Revolution Starts Now."

"The Revolution Starts Now" is the title track from Earle's Grammy-nominated 2004 album.

Wilson says she gravitated towards the song in the midst of a frustrating year and stressful election season.

"'The Revolution Starts Now' is a powerful, uplifting anthem of unity," she said of the track. "It's an incitement to think higher than polarization and derision. We need that now. I used to love this song in a 'fun' way. Nowadays, I take it much more seriously and urgently."

Ann's new single arrived the same week her sister and Heart bandmate Nancy Wilson unveiled her own first-ever solo single, a cover of Bruce Springsteen's "The Rising."

Like her sister, Nancy hopes her latest release will offer a sense of hope in an uncertain time.

"I just think for now it's another really appropriate moment to sing that song with an aspirational, sort of, slant on it," she told Q104.3 New York earlier this week.

While Ann has made no mention of a new album following her latest single, Nancy is planning her debut solo LP will arrive late-winter/early-spring.
