Today (Jan. 3) is National Fruitcake Toss Day.
According to National Day Calendar, National Fruitcake Toss Day is observed annually on Jan. 3 (sometimes listed as the first Saturday in December). Many people give fruitcakes as gifts during the holiday season. Some like fruitcake and eat it, others hate it and throw it away. On the third day in January, another person comes out of the woodwork. This is a person who has been hoarding fruitcakes so they can celebrate National Fruitcake Toss Day. The holiday should be observed by competing with friends to see who can toss a fruitcake the farthest. Use #FruitcakeTossDay to post on social media.
