Friday, December 6: Tig's Rock Birthdays

Today (Dec. 6) would have been Randy Rhoads' 63nd birthday. Also, birthday wishes going out to R.E.M. guitarist Peter Buck (63).

Randy Rhoads was a member of Quiet Riot which he co-founded at the age of 16. He would eventually join Ozzy Osbourne and be responsible for helping him get his solo career going in the early 80’s, playing on classic albums like Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman. Rhoads died tragically in a plane accident while on tour with Ozzy in Florida in 1982. Despite his short career, Rhoads legacy lives on in his music. He has been cited as an influence by many guitarists, and is considered among one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Let's remember the great Randy Rhoads on his birthday today!
