RUSH's New Film 'Cinema Strangiato' Hits Theaters Tonight

Rush has released one final trailer for the band's upcoming film Cinema Strangiato: An Annual Exercise in Fan Indulgence, which will be screened in theaters worldwide for one-night only tonight, August 21.

Shot during the band's unofficial farewell tour, 'R40,' the film features never-before-released live footage, plus interviews with band members and a handful of notable Rush fans, like Tom Morello, Taylor Hawkins and Billy Corgan.

Cinema Strangiato distributers Trafalgar Releasing touted the film as a "global event" that offers a special look at "some of the best performances from R40 Live," including Rush's biggest hits.

Fans will also be treated to candid footage taken backstage and a peek at the making of bassist and frontman Geddy Lee's new Big Beautiful Book of Bass.

During many interviews for his book, Lee has expressed the urge to get back onstage soon. He noted that one of his hopes for Cinema Strangiato is that it will create a concert-like atmosphere today.

"I think the intent of the record company, in [regards to celebrating 'R40'], was just to create something that you can't have at home," he explained. "Going into a venue with a ton of other like-minded Rush fans and celebrating the final tour, as it were."
