Happy Birthday today (June 8) to singer Mark Tornillo. The current singer of Accept is 65. Also celebrating is bassist PJ Farley of hair metal band Trixter (47).
Mark Tornillo officially joined German metal band Accept in May 2009 as the replacement for original singer Udo Dirkschneider. Prior to joining Accept, Tornillo was best known as singer for 80's metal band T.T. Quick. He’s appeared on four of the band’s studio albums: Blood of the Nations, Stalingrad, Blind Rage, and The Rise of Chaos was released last year on Nuclear Blast Records. Tornillo played in the band TT Quick before joining Accept. Accept achieved commercial success in 1983 with the album Balls to The Wall and the title cut became a well known hit. The album remains Accept’s only gold album in the United States.
Trixter from Paramus, NJ achieved success in the early 90’s with the release of their self titled debut album. The 1990 album Trixter reached No. 28 on the Billboard 200 chart and featured the singles “Give It to Me Good”, “One in a Million”, and “Surrender”. After a few other releases, the band eventually broke up. The original lineup reunited in 2008 and released new music:New Audio Machine (2012) and Human Era (2015).
