Today (Feb. 25) would have been George Harrison's 76th birthday.
'The quiet Beatle' was a multi-instrumentalist and lead guitarist for the Beatles. Harrison died on Nov. 28, 2001 at the age of 58 from lung cancer.
George Harrison ranked number 11 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the '100 Greatest Guitarist's of All Time'. Harrison Beatles songs include "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", "Here Comes the Sun", and "Something". He is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee (inducted as a member of the Beatles in 1988 and for his solo career in 2004.) The Beatles (George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starr) are considered the most influential group of the rock era. They are the best selling band in history with estimated worldwide record sales of over one billion. One of my favorite tunes from George is "When We Was Fab" off his 1987 solo album Cloud Nine.
