Happy Birthday today (Jan. 20) to Paul Stanley of Kiss who turns 67. Other rockers celebrating include bassist Ian Hill of Judas Priest (67) and Tracii Guns of L.A. Guns (53).

Paul Stanley is best known as the co-lead singer and rhythm guitarist for Kiss, and is known as the “Starchild”. Kiss rose to fame in the mid 70’s with their elaborate live, stage shows and they have gone through numerous lineup changes over the years. Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons are the only remaining original members in the current lineup. The band has sold over 100 million albums worldwide. The original, classic lineup consisted of Stanley (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Gene Simmons (vocals and bass), Ace Frehley (lead guitar), and Peter Criss (drums). Kiss was inducted into the rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. In 1996 the classic Kiss lineup (Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley, and Peter Criss) reunited in full makeup and announced plans for a full-fledged reunion tour. The 20th anniversary of the show I saw recently passed. It was on Dec. 30 in Hartford, CT at the Hartford Civic Center and it will go down as one of the greatest rock concerts I ever saw. The band embarks on their 'End of the Road' Farewell Tour at the end of the month with a date at Madison Square Garden on March 27. Cheers to Paul Stanley on his birthday today!
