Happy Birthday today (Jan. 18) to former Black Crowes guitarist Luther Dickinson. He's 46. Also celebrating is Autograph guitarist Steve Lynch (64) and Korn frontman Jonathan Davis (48).
Luther Dickinson is singer for the southern rock/blues band North Mississippi Allstars. He joined the Black Crowes in 2007 and played on the band's 2008 album Warpaint. He also appeared on the band's 2009 release Before the Frost... Until the Freeze. It would be the Black Crowes eighth and final studio album. Dickinson decided not to tour with the Black Crowes in 2013, dedicating his time to the North Mississippi Allstars and his other band the Southern Soul Assembly. Check out the video for the song "Goodbye Daughters of the Revolution" from the album Warpaint below. For more on Luther and his various projects, check out his official website here. I've always loved the Black Crowes and hope that we see the band back together someday. Cheers to Luther Dickinson on his birthday!
