Happy Birthday today (Nov. 30) to Billy Idol. He's 63. Also celebrating is Deep Purple bassist Roger Glover (73) and bassist John Moyer (Disturbed, Operation: Mindcrime) is 45.
Billy Idol was born in Middlesex, London and first achieved fame with the punk band Generation X during the 70’s punk era. He then embarked on a successful solo career. A series of music videos for songs like Dancing With Myself”, “White Wedding”, “Rebel Yell”. and “Eyes Without a Face” made him one of the first MTV stars. Idol continues to record and tour with guitarist Steve Stevens. He released his 8th studio album, Kings and Queens of the Underground and a biography entitled Dancing With Myself in 2014. Billy Idol and his band took the stage at the House of Blues Las Vegas at Mandalay Bay for their first-ever multi-date residency in 2016 and returned in 2017. He'll be doing another residency in 2019, this time at the Palms Casino Resort with a total of 10 shows scheduled (a pair of five-night stands in January and October). Billy Idol just recently become a U.S. citizen. Billy rocks. Saw him a few years ago and it was an awesome show with the incredible Steve Stevens on guitar.
