Happy Birthday today (Nov. 29) to former Boston guitarist Barry Goudreau. He's 67.
Barry Goudreau is best known as one of the original guitarists in the band Boston. He played on the debut album Boston (1976) and the second album Don’t Look Back (1978).
Boston had a string of hit singles throughout the 1970’s and 1980’s. Hits include “More than a Feeling”, “Piece of Mind”, “Rock and Roll Band”, “Foreplay/Longtime”, “Smokin'”, “Don’t Look Back”, and “Amanda”. Their self-titled debut album is one of the best-selling debut albums of all time in the U.S. with over 17 million copies sold. The band's classic lineup featured Bead Delp on vocals, guitarist Tom Scholz, guitarist Barry Goudreau, bassist Fran Sheehan, and drummer Sib Hashian. With the success of the the debut album, the band would tour with bands like Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, and Foghat. Other successful albums included Don't Look Back and Third Stage, but nothing would equal the success of the first album. Cheers to Barry Goudreau on his birthday today!
