Happy Birthday today (Nov. 20) to Eagles guitarist Joe Walsh. He’s 71.
Joe Walsh was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the Eagles in 1998. He also placed at number 54 on Rolling Stone magazine’s list of the “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” in 2011. I saw Joe Walsh play a few years ago in Poughkeepsie at the Mid Hudson Civic Center and he was great! Some show highlights for me included "Rocky Mountain Way" and "In the City" among others. Walsh performed hits from throughout his storied career, including the material from the James Gang, Barnstorm, the Eagles and his solo records through 2012's Analog Man. The tour reunited Walsh with Barnstorm keyboardist and drummer Joe Vitale. Other band members on the tour included Gannin Arnold on guitar, Tommy Simms on bass and Drew Hester on drums. A live Joe Walsh album recorded in 1981 entitled All Night Long: Live in Dallas was released in 2014.
Cheers to the coolest of all the Eagles, Joe Walsh on his birthday today!
