Foo Fighters, Metallica Set to Headline Chris Cornell Tribute Concert

The musicians who played in bands with Chris Cornell are coming together next year to celebrate the late rockstar. Members of Soundgarden, Audioslave, and Temple of the Dog are set to perform the songs that cemented Cornell's rock legacy during a special tribute concert called I Am The Highway: A Tribute to Chris Cornell. The event is taking place January 16, 2019 at the Forum in Los Angeles and will also feature sets by Foo Fighters, Metallica, and Ryan Adams. Jimmy Kimmel is slated to host the star-studded event.

“We are honored to have all these amazing artists and friends come together to pay tribute to and show their love and appreciation for Chris, his music and the mark he’s left on the world,” Cornell's widow Vicky said in a statement.

Aside from commemorating the musician's life and legacy, the tribute concert will also benefit the Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation and the Epidermolysis Bullosa Medical Research Foundation.

The acclaimed singer/guitarist took his own life last May. He was 52 years old.

A retrospective self-titled box set featuring Cornell's most iconic songs, as well as unreleased material, is slated to come out this Friday (November 16). Tickets for I Am The Highway go on sale the same day and can be purchased here.
