Sussex Branch Trail Clean Up Day is Friday

I have a 1978 Columbia Tourist bicycle which I often take out on the Sussex Branch Trail.  The trail is a 20-mile stretch that follows the route of the old Erie Lackwanna Railroad.   There are several places to park and hop on the trail.  You can see a map right here.  The trail meets the Pauklinskill Valley Trail at Warbasse Junction, just north of Newton, as well as the Great Valley Rail Trail in Augusta.

On Friday (October 19th), the Sussex County Chamber of Commerce will have a Trails Clean up Day.  If you'd like to help out, meet at Trinity and Stuart Street in Newton this Friday at 8:30a.  A trail will be cleaned and cleared here which will become part of the Sussex Branch Trail.  You should dress for the weather and bring gloves, loppers, pruning tools, water, snacks, bug spray, sunscreen, whatever you think you might need. You can register to participate by contacting Hannah Lozaw, a Member Services Assistant with the Chamber of Commerce, at hlozaw@sussexcountychamber.org.
