Remembering Stevie Ray Vaughan

Today (Oct. 3) we remember guitar great Stevie Ray Vaughan on what would have been his 64th Birthday.

Stevie Ray Vaughan was widely considered by many to be one of the most influential guitarists in the history of blues music and he was important to the blues revival of the 1980's. Vaughan was born Oct. 3, 1954 in Dallas, Texas. He started playing guitar at the age of 7. After performing a concert with Eric Clapton at Alpine Music Theater in East Troy, Wisconsin, Vaughan died in a helicopter clash at the age of 35. I remember seeing the news footage on the passing of Stevie Ray Vaughan as a young kid ( I was 13) and I vividly remember watching the tv in my living room in Carmel, NY watching the breaking news. Such a sad day it was on Aug. 27, 1990. Stevie Ray Vaughan was ranked the 12th greatest guitarist of all time by Rolling Stone magazine and he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2015.  Crank up some Stevie Ray Vaughan today in memory of the guitar legend!
