Happy Birthday today (Oct. 2) to Sting. The frontman for the Police is 67. Also celebrating is former Sublime drummer Bud Gaugh (51).
Sting was lead singer, bassist and main songwriter for the Police from 1977-1985. He eventually launched a successful solo career in 1986. The band reunited for a one-off world tour in 2007. The Police featured Sting, along with guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland. Songs like "Message in a Bottle", "Roxanne" and "Every Breath You Take" would make the Police megastars throughout the late 1970's and into the 1980's. They've sold over 75 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling bands of all time. Sting and the Police were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.
