Sunday, October 16, 2022, The Hudson Valley National Center for Veteran Reintegration (HVNCVR) Vet2Vet of Ulster County Program is inviting the public to support veterans — especially those in crisis — by joining the group’s October 16th “Walk a Mile in My Shoes” hike for all, or part, of this year’s 22-mile trek which will run north on Route 9-W from the Apple Greens Golf Course in Highland to HVNCVR Headquarters in Tech City. The October 16th event isthe third “Walk-A-Mile in My Shoes” event conducted by the nonprofit group to rally support and raise funds. The Vet2Vet of Ulster County Program is dedicated to helping Veterans in crisis find shelter, healthcare, or urgent support for other emergencies. Details are on the event site https://www.hvncvr.org/walk-a-mile Walkers and supporters are invited to contribute to the Vet-2-Vet Program of Ulster County by pledging to support distance walkers – those committed to the full; 22 miles or to the organization itself. “This event is serious in purpose and fun in its execution,” says Kevin Keaveny, co-founder, and executive director. “We served in our Armed Forces to protect our country and now we are serving our community to help one another,” says Gavin Walters Sr., Vet2Vet of Ulster County Program Director.
