Skid Row released their self-titled debut album 30 years ago today (Jan. 24, 1989).
Skid Row's debut album is an essential 80's hard rock/metal album. The band had gotten noticed by manager Doc McGhee and signed with Atlantic Records, working with producer Michael Wagener. Upon it's release in January of 1989, the album received favorable reviews. The band promoted the album while as an opening act on world tours with band's like Bon jovi and Aerosmith from 1989-1990. Skid Row peaked at number 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and went on to sell 5 million copies with singles "Youth Gone Wild", "18 and Life", "I Remember You" and "Piece of Me". With heavy radio play and constant rotation on MTV, the album's commercial and critical success gave the group worldwide popularity. I'm a Skid Row fan for life, been a fan since day one.
