Hey, what's up there fruitcake. Today (Dec. 27) is National Fruitcake Day.
According to National Day Calendar, fruitcake lovers young and old observe National Fruitcake Day each year on Dec. 27 across the United States. Fruitcake has been a holiday gift-giving tradition for many years. The cake is made with chopped candied or dried fruit, nuts and spices and sometimes soaked in "spirits". Fruitcake isn't for everyone, definitely not for me. I'm not a fan of it at all. Whenever I think of fruitcake, I think of the great Jerky Boys' phone pranksters from 25 years ago. A matter of fact, I'd like to honor Frank Rizzo on this National Fruitcake Day.
