31 Years Ago: Guns N' Roses Play The Chance

On this day 31 years ago (Oct. 25, 1987), a little band known as Guns N' Roses played The Chance in Poughkeepsie. Were you there?

Guns N' Roses had just released their debut album Appetite for Destruction in the summer of 1987 and only the singles "It's So Easy" and "Welcome to the Jungle" had been released when the band played some NY area club shows including The Chance. Several hundred people were in attendance to see Guns N' Roses with openers EZO. According to current club owner Frank Pallett, the band was paid $2,000 for their performance. Being a die hard Gn'R fan, I wish I was at the show, but I wasn't. I do however know a bunch of friends that were there.
