Remembering Rock Legends

Today (Oct. 9) we remember rock legends John Lennon and John Entwistle on their birthday.

We are remembering two members of two of the biggest rock bands of all time. The Beatles John Lennon would have been 78 today and Who bassist John Entwistle ('The Ox') who would have been 74. The Beatles and The Who are without a doubt to of the most successful rock bands in history. I never got a chance to see John Lennon or the Beatles. John died on Dec. 8, 1980 (which happened to be my 4th birthday). I always enjoyed the music of the Beatles, going through a big phase as a teenager. I would also get into the music of the Who. I never did get to see the Who in concert but I did get to see the John Entwistle Band at The Chance in Poughkeepsie 1 year before his passing (June 2001). I remember being excited to catch the legend in concert. Entwistle passed away on June 27, 2002 from a heart attack induced by a cocaine overdose.

Honor these two rock legends today by cranking up some classic Beatles and Who tunes!
